Job Description or Duties: Office management for the Multicultural Affairs Office. Provide complex and responsible office and administrative support for all office staff, coordination of events and retreats, assists numerous student organizations with planning events and processing expenses, and coordinating travel. Facilitate service to students, parents, staff, faculty, and the public. Office management: provide complex and responsible office and administrative support for the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA). Assists with detailed coordination of all events sponsored by this office as well as numerous student organizations connected with OMA. Maintain all office supplies, equipment, and other items as needed. Facilitate service to students, staff, parents, the public, faculty and administration. Utilize Microsoft Office programs and all University Operating systems. Assist in maintaining all departmental forms and information, as well as an organized filing system, and confidential student records. Complete and process all hiring and payroll paperwork for any student workers. Process all travel paperwork, coordinate all travel details with staff and student groups. Work closely with other UNK offices and follow all University policies and procedures. Work with numerous student organizations on event coordination, travel, and bill paying. Collect confidential student data and prepare reports for local and national entities on scholarship recipients. Use independent judgement based on general guidelines related to the function of the office. Maintain a high degree of integrity, exhibit professional demeanor and work productively as part of a team. This position reports to the Director of Multicultural Affairs.
 
Required Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or HS diploma plus 2 years of administrative experience. Excellent written communication. Microsoft Office programs experience.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of office experience in higher education preferably student affairs. Knowledge of UNK Business Operations. Working with public/students experience. Working with diverse populations. Experience with event planning.
